It can be difficult to know if you have ADHD or not. There are times when we all find it difficult to pay attention, act impulsively or are hyperactive. Adults with these difficulties can also mask them or learn how to work around these symptoms. What we do, is consider whether you meet criteria for ADHD and suggest recommendations even if you don’t.All initial assessments are conducted in person at our Central London Clinic, and completed online.

*A screening will not provide you with a diagnosis, a screening is a 1 hour session where we establish whether or not an assessment will be able to help you. The price your screening will be taken off the price of a full assessment if you decide to proceed with a full assessment.

What happens in this assessment?

Step 1

Pre-assessment information is gathered
Information is gathered about your current circumstances and difficulties. We also request information from an informant (parent, sibling, colleague or friend).

Step 2

A clinical interview based on the ACE+
A clinical interview takes place. This covers your early history and asks about ADHD symptoms. This is completed with you, and you may also wish to bring an informant with you. The whole process takes 2 hours to complete and can be completed online.

Step 3

The clinician considers the evidence.
If a further ADHD test called the QB test is required, this will be arranged.

Step 4

Feedback session, including recommendations
This feedback, online meeting discusses whether you now have a diagnosis and
what recommendations we are giving to help.

A report is delivered

How is ADHD diagnosed?

We use recommended clinical interviews and information from your informant (parent, sibling or friend). If we require further information, you may be asked to do a Qb test, which is an ADHD specific test. Qb tests provide additional information, but are not a replacement for a comprehensive assessment.

What are the treatment options for ADHD?

Local NHS ADHD services can offer medication and/or behavioural strategies. Medication and behavioural strategies can also be accessed via private psychiatrists and psychologists working in ADHD.
